The potluck is usually associated with the picnics. However, you can plan a new year with the potluck party. The party host can ask all their guests to bring one dish to the party. This way everyone gets to enjoy at least one dish and there will be not much leftovers. The advantages are the host can save time and money on planning for a food and snacks for the party. If you are well prepared you will be able to enjoy the party.

A potluck is always fun and as you get to taste many new dishes prepared by different people and you have varieties of dishes on your table. If you are planning a theme party, you can inform your guests about the theme and the food should be according to the theme. The host can prepare the main course and ask all the other to get the side dishes or snacks for the party.

Even though the potluck decreases the responsibility of the host, they still have to do lots more than that. They need to ensure that the food is enough for people. Then they have to think about the desserts. To avoid duplication in the menu the host can ask different people to get different dishes or the host can ask few people to get the salads, or few people to get side dishes or desserts etc.

The main problem is whether the food needs to be served hot or cold. In case you need to serve food hot you would want to make the provisions to keep, the food hot even though the guest has brought the food hot it will be a while the food will be served.

The drinks are also to be considered when you plan any party more so a New Year Eve party. As for the New Year, you will need alcoholic drinks and the cocktails both so it best that the host provides the drinks. The host can plan according to the guest’s tastes and likes. The host can choose some of the cocktails and the alcoholic drinks. In case there are people, who do not take cocktails or alcoholic drinks the soft drinks can be supplied by few of the guests.

Finally, when planning a New Years Eve potluck it is important to make them understand the diet of all the guests as some of the guests who suffer from diabetes will need special diet. The host has to take care of these special guests or ask few of the guests to get dietary food. If the host knows some of the guests are Vegetarian, the host should ensure that there is enough food for the vegetarians.

If you are planning for a New Years Party, you will have to take care of many of things among which the main important is making a guest list. The guest list will influence many other things, which needs planning.

The number of people on your list will decide where you can have your party. If the guest is long, you will need a bigger place and in case the list is short then you can have your party anywhere either at home or somewhere outside.

The food and drinks are to be planned accordingly. If the party is for just a few people, the variety can be less but the party is big then you have to have a lots of varieties on your menu and drinks list.

If you are inviting many guests, there will be a chance that some of your friends do not get along with the other and there are chance of conflicts which when occur look very ugly and mar the spirit of the party.

Here if the party is small you can avoid certain people who do not get along with each other but in the case of a large party it is unavoidable but there are chances that in a large gathering they might not see each other. However, if they do, it is possible that they behave in a mature way and ignore each other.

If you feel that they will not behave maturely it is better to avoid and remove those people from the guest list. The location will be of great importance when your guest list is long, you will have to rent a restaurant or a hall. If you have invited many guest the location you choose will have to be planned out accordingly as many places have the maximum capacity allowed. Also many restaurants want minimum people and in case, if you have a lesser party still you will have to pay for the minimum guests.For the food and drinks, if you have invited many guests then you can arrange a buffet table.

Therefore, the guest list will determine all the other aspects of the New Year eve party. If you want to throw a party, plan and have a HAPPY NEW YEAR.

3) The guests can contribute to the décor of the place, which will make it interesting, and you will have different types of décor decorating your house. This will also take less of your time and energy when decorating the  house on your own. In addition, you can make the party more interesting by placing each of the décor in the center and ask people to guess who the owner is. And also to ask each and every owner why they chose to bring that particular décor.

The decorations are important but the main important part is to enjoy the party and meet up with the old friends and probably make new friend
